Age of the Dragons

I did the initial concept for this film. It's looking pretty good, actually, for such a low budget project. It's an adaptation of Moby Dick... with dragons.

I designed the main dragon, some costumes, and the big vehicle thing they're driving around. Believe it or not, it was filmed mostly in Alpine, Utah.

When it comes out I'll post the art on here.

Speed Painting: Derelict Ship

Here is this week's speed painting. A lot of things I'd do differently if I were to tackle this again. I'll post the video soon.

Pre Dom WIP

I recently moved to the greater Seattle area, thinking I'd get away from the snow. Ironically, it snowed for a full day and completely iced over every road in the area. My studio has been closed for two days, and I may get the whole week off with Thanksgiving and all. With the spare time I've been playing Xbox and working on my Pre Dominance War entry:

Pre Dominance War Sketch

I'm doing dominance war this year. This is my prelim sketch for the pre-competition. Figured it would be a good way to build my portfolio.

Surprise....

I stumbled upon a site that was using some of my artwork for their article:

First Nation Sci-Fi & Technology Resources

I was incredibly flattered, but a little bugged that they didn't ask for my permission. They did give me credit though, and I'm all about the publicity. Pretty interesting article!

Cyan Cat Cap

Today's Art Challenge: "Hat". I decided, of course, to make this. It makes perfect sense, I think. If you don't think so you're probably a communist. I don't hate you for liking communism, I'm just guessing that you probably prefer red cats to blue.

Ice Land, but not Iceland

Here is an environment sketch I squeezed out yesterday.

I recently moved to the Seattle area to accept a job as a concept artist at Griptonite Games, which is located in Kirkland. It's interesting that the more one draws, the more one wants to draw, despite the added grueling effort it takes. Sort of like doing hard drugs. Or watching reality TV. Showering regularly would also fall under that category.

My friend Tyson and I had a fish guy speed painting challenge type deal and this is what popped out of me. Like a baby. Some warped subhuman baby. With gills.
