Buddha and Shiva
Another drawing from work. This is part of a storyboard for a course. Why so complex you ask? I want to be able to print them in nonphoto blue and trace them for a specific look. I have a fun job where I get to draw aliens and religious icons all day.
The reference is an 80 foot tall statue in Bodhgaya, India. If you think the original Buddha was fat, do a Google search. He was described as being extremely emaciated (self inflicted as an ascetist) to extremely fit and having a body like unto Michael Phelps. The "fat Buddha" came about when Buddhism gained popularity in China. Some think he was a Buddhist monk, and others think that having great girth symbolized Wealth and Prosperity and was therefore applied to their main religious iconography.
This is a drawing of Shiva, a Hindu god. He has four arms, which is cool. I spent a bit less time on him than the Buddha, but I thought it was kinda fun so I'm throwing it up there.

Wait- you've got it all wrong. Shiva is materia that summons a totally hot blue babe with ICE POWERS. And Buddha is an action figure. Look it up.
These are TIGHT.
don't get me wrong... i mean... i love my religion but everybody else seems to have way cooler looking Gods... man I'm going to hell for sure!
wow. i wish i had 4 arms then i could probably climb mountains like crazy//great,i wish i could do that
Jake hijacked my comment. I too hereby testify that Shiva is, in fact, a hot materia lady wearing nothing but dishrags with amazing ice powers.
Oh almighty and powerful Budha and Shiva we pray that you might give us a freakin' update on this blog!
whydont u make/draw somthing else...,i added bout 6 things
Wow, loved ur work.
I m a Hindu so i understand the personification of the Shiva Energy into a human being. And Buddha is like an incarnation of Vishnu (I wonder how come u didn't attend him- he is worth the hard work). So both to me are Worshipable, Respectable and a awesome subject of art.
But wht i liked the most in ur work tht u kp the serenity on their face intact juz the way it is.
So gr8 job bro! :-)
